A High Wind Event we were concerned about did happen. Owensboro Kentucky had a gust of 73MPH the highest of this event. 10,000 new costumers lost power in Daviess County. In Reidland the roof was blown off a grocery store into the trees. Several roofs are gone across many areas of West KY. Even some metal siding in Hopkinsville Mall. Muhlenberg County all the people with power lost it. This made Ice Storm Recovery impossible today.
Also earlier a Tornado Watch was in effect for the Green River Counties of West KY. Some storms produced wind gusts of 60MPH and some minor damage was done 10 miles east of Hopkinsville but that was the extent of the line in West KY.
There was more damage in Central KY and Mid TN by thunderstorms. Even a possible Tornado or Downburst in Fentress down to Scoot County TN in the Plateau. NWS Nashville and for Scoot County NWS Morristown will explore that area tommorow.
