ALTHOUGH NOT PARTICULARLY STRONG...WINDS BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MPH
CAN BE EXPECTED LATER THIS MORNING AND THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING
OVER AREAS AFFECTED BY THE RECENT ICE STORM LAST WEEK.
FROM 9 AM CST THROUGH 8 PM CST TODAY...WINDS GREATER THAN 10 MPH
...AT TIMES...WILL MOVE ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI...EXTREME
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA AND WEST KENTUCKY. THE WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO TURN FROM SOUTHWEST...TO WEST AND NORTHWEST THIS
AFTERNOON IN ADVANCE OF A COLD FRONT MOVING ACROSS THE IMPACTED
AREA.
THE COMBINATION OF THE CHANGE IN WIND SPEED AND DIRECTION MAY
CAUSE LOOSELY SUPPORTED TREE LIMBS OR TREES TO FALL WITHOUT WARNING.
PERSONS INVOLVED IN POWER RESTORATION AND TREE CLEARING...AS WELL
AS THE PUBLIC AT LARGE...SHOULD BE WATCHFUL OF ANY SIGNIFICANT
CHANGES IN THE WINDS...ESPECIALLY THIS AFTERNOON.
WIND SPEEDS SHOULD FALL BELOW 10 MPH ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA IMPACTED BY
THE ICE STORM AFTER 8 PM CST THIS EVENING.
