Special Weather Statment from Paducah

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM CST this
afternoon...

A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM CST this
afternoon.

Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph will continue across the area through
4pm. The winds should decrease between 4pm and 5pm... then drop off
dramatically by early evening. The strongest winds are most
likely over western Kentucky... southeast Illinois... and southwest
Indiana. As of mid afternoon... there have been numerous reports of
wind gusts over 60 mph across the quad state area. This has
brought down trees and power lines... and there have been reports
of structural damage.

People heading home from school and work should be extremely
careful and watch for debris in the Road and downed power lines.

Loose limbs and weakened trees will continue to come down due to
the strong winds. The winds may result in new power outages for
some areas... and result in more property damage as well.
