Tornado Facts and Maps

- West KY has had 105 out of 216 tornadoes occur in the 2000's alone so far.
- 2003 has had the most tornadoes of any year in West KY history
- Calloway County not only has the overall lead in tornadoes in West KY since 1950 (22), but has also had the most tornadoes since 2000 (11) in West KY.
- Daviess County is second in both tornadoes since 1950 (17) and tornadoes since 2000 (10)
- So far Daviess and Calloway county are in double digits in the number of tornadoes they have received since 2000,but if Crittenden or Webster County receives one more tornado this year they will be in double digits for this decade. Fulton County is the only county in the west ky 22 that has not had a tornado so far this decade.
- Overall Carlisle County has the least amount of tornadoes since 1950 with only one, and that was a brief F-0 with the connection of two outflow boundaries back in Aug 2006.

- West KY 22 even going back to the 1800's has not had an F5 tornado yet even though there were a few that occurred close by like the Tri-State Tornado (SE MO, S IL, S IN) and the Bradenburg Tornado in North Central KY during the 1974 Super Outbreak.
