Drought

The thing we don't like to cover the drought.

Severe Drought(D2) Is the highest declaration we have in Western KY currently. This is where the impacts of drought really start to felt, with damage to crops, low streamflows, and dry grass begin. This covers much of the Jackson Purchase area(except for Murray and Hazel KY) of Western KY into the Fluorspar District and the southern coalfields. D1 moderate drought is when you start to feel crop impacts and lower streamflows covers the Hopkinsville to Henderson KY area west, with a little bulge into Muhlenberg County also portions of NW Middle TN and SE Middle TN have D1 drought. The Nashville basin has received more widespread rain and therefore is only in D0 or no drought at all at the time. Sadly there may be potential for areas in the D1 drought to upgrade to D2 and some areas in the D2 drought to upgrade to D3(the second highest category meaning extreme drought.)
