...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR MAINLY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS THE QUAD STATE REGION...

.HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER THE QUAD STATE REGION...BRINGING
HOT AND HUMID AIR TO THE REGION. THIS WILL PRODUCE DANGEROUS HEAT
INDEX VALUES FOR RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS ALIKE.

THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 8 PM CDT
THURSDAY FOR THE ENTIRE QUAD STATE REGION.

* ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...HEAT INDEX VALUES
WILL MEET OR EXCEED 105 DEGREES OVER ALL OF SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI...SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS AND THE PURCHASE AREA OF WEST
KENTUCKY...GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE FROM INTERSTATE 57 AND 24.
ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 105
DEGREES OR HIGHER WILL MOVE EASTWARD INTO PARTS OF SOUTHEAST
ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA AND THE PENNYRILE REGION OF WEST
KENTUCKY. THE PERIOD OF GREATEST CONCERN WILL BE FROM 1 PM TO 8
PM CDT EACH DAY.

* WITH LITTLE OR NO SIGNIFICANT WIND EXPECTED THE NEXT TWO
DAYS...THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL BUILD QUICKLY DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS. THIS WILL LEAD DANGEROUS
CONDITIONS FOR THOSE PERSONS THAT MUST BE OUTDOORS. INDIVIDUALS
SHOULD TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP FROM GETTING OVERHEATED
AND REMAIN HYDRATED. FOR HEAT SAFETY TIPS...PLEASE REFER TO THE

WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH KENTUCKY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE
POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED
ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND
NEIGHBORS.
