Lake Day 4 out of 5 tommorrow

I kind of dropped the ball on today's lake day forecast. Overall tom. will be clear, but there be some stray maybe even widely scattered showers/thunderstorms. Because of that will go 4 out of 5 Lake Day for tomorrow July 11th. Still a good lake day, but like today there may be an unpredictable thunderstorm or two.

Some Dry Conditions developing in West KY.

From Drought Monitor. Noaa watches this for possible drought. The D0 you see in the Jackson Purchase region doesn't necessary mean drought, but it was one of the early stages of drought. It does mean some abnormally dry conditions are occurring. Although no one wants rain on the weekend, we could use some rain on the weekdays.

We do get some rain chances this week, scattered summertime thunderstorms will pop up across the areas. Some of these will contain lightning and locally heavy rain.

Meanwhile today is a perfect 5 out of 5 lake day. So get out and enjoy it.

Friday, July 9, 2010

A much better day for the lake for Saturday. Lake Day 5 out of 5.

Happy 4th of July

Finally a sunny, clear, and dry 4th of July.

5 out of 5 Lake Day. Get out there and enjoy it.

Fourth of July at the Lakes

It is not to late to enjoy Lake Events for this 4th of July. Remember great weather this weekend, although a tad bit, but still dry and nice.

http://www.explorekentuckylake.com/lakesarea/events/fourthofjuly.htm

Some 4th of July Events from the Lakes area. Remember no weather concerns to worry about. Highs will be in the low to mid 90's, and lows around 70. So it will be a tad bit hot, but it will be dry and nice as well.
Great Weather Warning continues again today. 5 out of 5 Lake Day. For Independence Day guess what Great Weather Warning runs though the hoildays. A Great Weather Warning means that wonderful lake, and outdoor weather is occuring as we speak. If your under a Great Weather Warning go out, and enjoy it.

Hurricane Alex landfall

This is a picture from NOAA. Of Alex making landfall just south of El Gato Mexico, or about 110 miles south of Brownsville. Alex was a CAT 2 with 105MPH winds at landfall.

June overview.

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=pah&storyid=54108&source=0

June was a blowtorch for the area. Both in KY and TN. Precipitation it really ranged from quite wet, to quite dry. Which is a common for the area, due to some areas getting a whole lot of rain from isolated thunderstorms, while others miss those storms,... and don't get a lot of rain.
