...DAMAGE SURVEY RESULTS FOR FULTON COUNTY KENTUCKY...

THE FOLLOWING IS THE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT FOR A DOWNBURST THAT OCCURRED
IN HICKMAN IN FULTON KENTUCKY.

* EVENT DATE - WEDNESDAY JULY 15 2009

* EVENT TIME - APPROX. 638 PM CDT

* EVENT TYPE - DOWNBURST /MICROBURST/

* EVENT LOCATION - IN THE TOWN OF HICKMAN.

* PEAK WIND - 80 MPH

* AVERAGE PATH WIDTH - 50 YARDS

* PATH LENGTH - ONE QUARTER MILE

* INJURIES - NONE

* FATALITIES - NONE

* DISCUSSION/DAMAGE - ROOF BLOWN OFF RESTAURANT WITH DEBRIS FROM THE
RESTAURANT DAMAGING A SECOND HOME IMMEDIATELY EAST OF THE BUSINESS.
ANOTHER HOME ABOUT A BLOCK WEST HAD WELL BUILT CARPORT ROOF BLOWN
OFF. NUMEROUS TREE LIMBS BROKEN OFF. SEVERAL PUBLIC REPORTS OF
FUNNEL CLOUDS NEAR THE RESTAURANT ALTHOUGH THE DAMAGE APPEARED TO BE
STRAIGHT LINE WINDS FROM A MICROBURST. ELSWHERE ACROSS THE COUNTY
THREE STEEL BUILDINGS WERE DAMAGED. ONE BUILDING HAD SIGNIFICANT
WALL DAMAGE AND ANOTHER HAD SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE DOORS. ALSO
NUMEROUS LARGE LIMBS WERE DOWN ACROSS THE COUNTY. SOME MINOR CROP
DAMAGE TO AREA CORN FIELDS.
