Heavy Rain Tonight??

Lot of moisture to mess around with there is a potential across West KY esp south of a Paducah to Livermore KY line of heavy rain. Some areas may receive up to 2 inches this evening until very early tommorow which could cause localized flooding concerns on already saturated grounds so beware.

Cool down with possible record lows?

A cool down is in the books. We are talking about a pretty big cool down as temperatures lower to the 50's with records possible. And highs only in the mid 70's possible for both Saturday and Sunday.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

A T-Storm watch is in effect for parts of west Ky including Mayfield and Murray.

Right now a t-storm warning is in event for Fulton and Hickman counties as damaging winds are possible with a MCS type system.

Be careful and watch for 50-60MPH winds and large hail.

Update on weather

Rain and thunderstorms not expected to be of widespread severe notion today. Some may get strong but probably won't be severe.

If enough instability can form a few strong to severe storms may form tomorrow.

Some cooler weather is expected with highs maybe not even reaching 80 across West KY.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Today is a mostly dry day. Jackson Purchase area may have a chance of rain later into the night towards daybreak.

A slight risk of severe weather is in effect for West KY tomorrow. With large hail and damaging winds possible in any storm that can get going.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

June 12th update

Some strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening. If a complex forms in Missouri than it could clip at least far SW KY with damaging winds. Elsewhere isolated strong to severe storms with a damaging wind and locally heavy rain is possible.

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Update

Not a widespread event but locally heavy rain and locally damaging winds are possible. No widespread severe weather or flooding is expected though.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Strong to Severe storms possible this weekend

After a realitivly dry day today with only 20% rain chances the weather gets unsettled this weekend.

Scattered to widespread thunderstorms form this weekend both in the form of pop up thunderstorms (some could be strong) to even MCS formation and a potentially more organized severe threat if one of those forms in the right environment and gets organized.

More details this afternoon along with confidence level map.

Watch the weather for another weekend.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Warm and dry days are occurring.

Mid to upper 80's Today and Wednesday.

Hot and Humid Thursday-Saturday.

Chances of rain this weekend.

4th Outlook

Lake Day due to a potential rain ruiner and SPC slight risk of Severe weather is a horrible 2 out of 5. Lets hope that the rain and storms at least stay scattered and not severe and maybe the wash out won't dash plans.

Of course it should instead of making you sad you can dance in the rain tommorow and celebrate the birthday of the USA.

4th of July Special Weather Statement

This is the NWS PAH Special Weather Statement I believe it covers everything better
than I can explain it.

I will soon have the lake day and planner map on here soon.

4th of July Washout and Severe WX potenial.

The 4th of July what a wonderful time of year. The time to celebrate this country's birthday and Independence. Also a time where fireworks shoot off in the sky.

This year in West KY we will have both from nature and actual firework events from Mayfield to Hopkinsville to Henderson to Owensboro to the Lakes to Paducah.

Tomorrow Night we will watch a possible MCS move into the area into early of the 4th that may or may not have strong or severe storms in them.

Then several rounds of possible severe storms could basically form all day on the 4th. A potential washout along with a SPC Slight Risk.

4th- 3 out of 5 could be lowered to 2 out of 5 if washout appears more likely.
