Severe week my friends

A pot. Sequence of severe weather is possible across the Bluegrass and Voulnteer states starting up tomm afternoon starting in West TN and moving east thu Friday Afternoon into the evening hours.
Right now the biggest threat is from a Fulton to Hopkinsville line south and down towards Mid TN and west towards Paris and back towards Memphis.

Tommorows threat will be scattered out and scattered severe even tohugh a cluster or supercell could form a MCS. Sat/SUn This complex system with strong low could be a monster with pot for squall lines, supercells, and anything else. more details later but could be a sig mothers day weekend.

Severe threat back up

It only took some outflow boundaries and some good shear to save us from a bust.

Now were backi n business with pot of storng tornadoes in the Purchase area a Tornado EWarned storm there now. Also a damaging wind threat with poss isolated tornadoes elsewhere. Whether the rain in NW KY and how that effects things remains kinda of a mystery.

Isolated Tornados/ Hail/ Wind

Isolated tornadoes also damaging winds and hail may be poss. Storms developing east of the MCS could become supercells and pose a severe threat. The area of West KY likely to see this will be south of a Wickliffe/Paduach line to Princeton and west of the Land Between the Lakes and over towards Murray KY/PAris TN

Threat update

SW KY best threat

Threat has decreased somewhat from this morning and yesterday. Instablity stayed somewhat low and the system moved too fast. Flash flooding is a problem in NW KY with training MCS. SW KY still a potent severe threat.

Be prepared for a poss severe thunderstorm/maype tornado outbreak.

The main frame for West Ky is 5pm-2am

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Time to not Play around

A severe threat exists again. It is hard to bust two in a row and this is a setup that also looks pretty good. You have a poss supercell threat followed by the an intense line or lines of storms. The timing appears amype after 5pm this can start. Squall Line timing should be 8 or 9pm along the MS river coutnies of West KY and clear Hopkinsville/Henderson and Owensburo area by 1 or 2am on Prom Day.

This line should also extend along Mid TN storms may form as early as early evneing along NW Mid TN. The main threat could be a squall line that forms around Midnight and storms that can produce damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

In West Ky Damaging Winds in excess of 80 MPH, Large Hail, and Tornadoes some may be long tracked instablity and eventual timing of LLJ and with the seriousness of this event increased cant rule out a strong tornado either.

Right now all of West KY and even a deal of Mid TN can see severe weather biggest tornado threat appears to be farther west you go so the biggest tornado threat from around Mayfield and PAduach west with an respectable threat still remains across West KY particualry NW KY.

Play Prom Props

A threat that could contain widespread damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and hail is poss across West Ky. The MDT risk exists from Mayfield to Paduach west. Stay tuned for more details sotrms may linger on Prom Day esp in the morning along US 41 and east.
This is a Day 2 MDT risk for part of West KY.

Right Now a Moderate Risk of Severe Weather exists in West KY from Mayfield to Paduach West. A severe threat with damaging wind as the main threat is poss. Also poss of hail and isolated tornadoes cant be ruled out across all of West KY with the Jackson Purchase area at the greatest threat.
