Excessive Heat Warning today for NW Mid TN and Western KY. May even be a tad bit worse than yesterday with temps a few degrees warmer(98-100) and dewpoints still around 80 degrees.

110-119 HI values

110-119 Heat Index values for all of Western KY the highest 119 being in Morganfield KY. Temps are in the mid 90's with dewpoints in the 78-81 range so very humid.

HI values of 109-116 are possible today as temps go into the upper 90's and dewpoints the 75-80 range.

- Stay indoors if possible.
- If not wear light colored clothing, drink plenty of fluids(water, Gatorade, lemonade)

Lake Day remains a 3 out of 5. There could be periods of widespread showers and storms throughout the day and night potentially raining out some firework shows. There appears to also be chances for breaks and sunshine as well across the lakes. Beware of lightning and heavy rain if you are out boating or on the water.

Still uncertain on how widespread development will be on the 4th. It could be a washout or just a scattered event. Will still go with a lake day of 3 out of 5. Locally Heavy Rain and Isolated strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out. Most widespread times for storms will be the morning to late afternoon hours with a lesser chance overnight on the 4th.

Most of Western KY has been clear today except for Henderson and Owensboro. As several of the 4th of July events will be tonight do watch out for lightning in any storms that form. Lightning has caused injuries to boaters earlier today in Missouri. Lightning can also strike several miles out ahead of the storm. When you hear thunder you can be struck by lightning.

Lake Day 5 out of 5 today and 4 out of 5 tommorow. Nice and hot day for today. Tommorow is also hot but some isolated to scattered thunderstorms could form in the afternoon. The 4th of July is expected to be warm with some scattered storms

A few storms may briefly go severe with wind and hail so do seek shelter if those storms impact your area and you are outside. Like most summer time pulse storms they will go severe and contain vivid lightning but then will collapse.
