Chance of rain and storms

Chance of rain and storms tonight and tomorrow. Any severe damaging winds should be isolated if they occur at all. Much nicer conditions and especially temperatures are expected in the mid week period.

Outflow issues

Watch out for the outflow boundary there have been 50+MPH wind gusts with that in the Missouri Boothill this should cross the MS. River in around 30 or so minutes and begin impacting the far western KY counties. Still don't know how strong this MCS will be heading into Western KY.

Update

Strongest storms will move to West TN. There still is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch so monitor any storms that may produce damaging winds.

Some strong to severe storms are possible across Western KY tonight and tomorrow. Damaging winds will be the threat with the strongest storms.

Forgot the lake day but it is a 3 out of 5 and some storms are occurring over the land between the lake areas today but are expected to clear out.

Thunderstorm Watch for Purchase

No Severe Weather yet but some damaging winds may fire in the T-Storm Watch over the Jackson Purchase area which is in effect till 3pm. Temperatures aren't expected to be as hot as yesterday and the NE winds should keep us in the low to mid 90's today.

Decrease the rain chances a bit tonight

Some rain and storms appear to approach Carlisle, Hickman, and Fulton counties. Elsewhere the chances aren't that good for rain although a stray storm can still occur. The best chance for rain will be west of US641 and south of US60.

Hot at the 11am hour

Already 95 in Hickman and Cadiz KY appears many areas of Western KY will hit 100 for the first time today. Heat Index values are already above 105 in many areas across Western KY at the 11am hour.

Slight Risk of Severe Weather as well

There is also a slight risk of severe storms with damaging winds being the threat if any severe storms occur.

Hot July Skies. August Hot

According to the NWS of Nashville it was the 5th hottest July in record. Although many areas didn't hit 100 there were a consistent streak of mid to upper 90's during the months. Also combined with the humidity HI values in the 110+plus range occurred in many locations throughout the month.

This hot pattern appears to continue through Early August. We will have to see if we can get a slight cool down in Mid August or not.
