A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving into NW KY.
Strong Thunderstorms Winds in excess of 60MPH might be possible. Also small hail is possible.

Thunder over Ohio

Thunder over Ohio in Henderson KY and Quilt Festival and ROMP Music festival in Owensboro Kentucky might have to deal with some thunderstorms tonight and tommorow.

Severe aspect is very uncertain in this area of West KY despite the fact of T-Storm Watch 623. If any storms become severe they could produce nickel sized hail and 60MPH winds. The severe pot. appears greater in the IL and IN parts of the watch.

Slight chance of thunderstorms today is possible. Saturday look to almost be a near washout and bad for all events going on. Some clearing and heating should occur. This should lead to a formation of a cluster or possibly a line or bow echo that will race down and produce what might be a widespread damaging wind event at worst case. But should be at least a scattered strong to severe thunderstorm event.

With instability and enough shear available, along with any daytime heating and lift on the cold front that can occur Strong to severe storms are possible. In matter of fact an enhanced and possibly long lived Mesoscale Convective System is a possibility with enhanced severe thunderstorm wind potential

Some strong to severe poss this weekend

Some strong to severe storms are poss Fri. Night and Sat across parts of West KY.

Friday Night- A slight risk for day 3 outlook exists from Morganfield KY to Owensboro Ky north. Slight damaging wind threat might be poss. With chance of rain across most of West KY 20-40% around the Friday-Saturday timeframe.

Saturday- Good chance of thunderstorms is poss. Some might be strong or severe mostly east of the Land Between the Lakes.

Even a 20% of rain exists tomm.

Remember all thunderstorms contain lightning to this time of year so be careful.
This is also Lightning safety awareness week.

Henderson Ky Shootings

After midnight an argument with a supervisor of Atlantis Plastics in Henderson KY turned deadly. As a gunman shot and killed his supervisor, than went into the factory in which, he shot at group of people killing 4 more plus the supervisor.

A vigil is currently at 5pm taking place in the footsteps of the Henderson County Courthouse. Bellview United Methodist Church organized the event to remember the victims that passed away during the shooting.

The Motif of the crime was an arguement about use of cell phone on the assembly line and not using the safety googles.

A news conference by Coroner, Henderson Mayor, and Henderson Police will be hosted at 3 PM today. Details will be presented at the Joint News Conference Later at that time. Henderson's mayor Tom Davis will provide grief for the affected employees and also the families involved.

Prehistoric ages of flooding up north

Iowa and Illnois and now MO will see probably the biggest flooding poss. since the dinosaurs were around. Of course there was Noah's Ark in there which was def the worst.

Ark building will need ot be built as a billon dollar diaster is in store. Iowa University is flooded and even far west ky may face very minor floooding by the Ohio River/Miss RIver exchange at Cairo IL as it flows along the MO/KY border.


It is a dangerous and heartbreaking situaiton in IA, WI, IL, MO, IN. So keep these people in mind as you go thru your day.

Update

Public Reprot a hour ago of a tornado near South Wingo damage is unknown at the time. Also a house destroyed with numerous powerlines and tress down in Paduach.

This line will move and prolly contue to be severe all way to Poss the Green River. So Cadiz, Princeton, Madisonville, Hopkinsville, Elkton, Greenville, Central City, Providence be prepared for 50 to 70MPH Winds, Non Stop Lightning, Heavy Rain for next few hours.

West KY minute

First of all minor flooding of Miss/Ohio junction in Cairo might flood some bottomlands across Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton. and Hickman counties in KY. These might cause some minor crop damage. Shouldnt be a major situation situation.

Then Friday after a clear and warmer Wed and Thurs. The chance of rain and thunderstorms is back. A few strong to severe might be possible at this time Fri/Fri Night as the SPC has West kY in the Day 3 Slight Risk threat.

The SPC highlighted a slight risk from Mayfield to Owensburo west. Not a sig. severe expected. A few special weather statments and maype t-storm warnings may be required in the strongest storms.Threat is gusty winds and dangerous lightning so be careful all across West KY tonight for lightning and remeber that lightning can kill or cause disabling effects.Just because there is no warning or special weather statement on the storm doesnt mean it doesnt have dangerous lightning or locally heavy rains

ROugh at Them Lakes

SW Winds of 15 to 25 MPH will create some choppy conditions in the Lakes area. SO beware shouldn't be a huge event but may cause some hassle for lake activities.

Tomorrow night a slight risk of severe weather exists for a narrow portion of West KY that goes from Hickman to Henderson KY west.

Winds will continue for days. Warmer temps will occur with temps in the low to sometimes mid 90's and heat indices may flirt with 100 in some areas.

Cuase of the southern trend and the heating and ample instablity. Severe storms can fire up and occur esp in NW KY. These storms could produce damaging wind upwards to 60MPH, Hail up to the size of nickels, and maype a brief spinup and tornado that can't be tottally ruled out.

The areas effected include: Henderson KY, Owensburo KY, Morganfield KY. Isolated strong to severe storms may bring brief hail/wind threat to the rest of West KY and most of Mid TN.

A strong low can trigger severe on Friday to.

In West KY

Today- Mainly south of Bardwell to Livermore KY line. Isolated severe and widely scattered storms

Monday- All of West KY damaging winds main threat, hail, maype a brief spinup. This threat is questionable

Tuesday- Same as Monday but mostly north of the West KY Parkway.

Friday- Uncertain if several models verifly severe wx and a poss. outbreak. Thinking it will slow down poss into Saturday.
