A supercell may or may not graze west ky

A Tornado Watch down this far south in July and August can be quite rare. Reasoning is because Dolly Reminisce which was picked up along with the cold front that is moving along has sparked enough shear to get a few storms rotating in MO and IL. There is a possibity maybe not a great one but a possibly of one of these storms grazing far west and nw ky before weakening overnight. ANy storm can produce high winds in excess of 58MPH and a possible tornado/brief spinup/funnel cloud

Crack an Egg on the Pavement and Watch it Go

The Heat is on. Several things going down weather and life wise except the temperature and the humidity.

Story 1: HEAT ADVISORY FROM NOON TO 6PM Monday: It is going to be egg on the ground and hot frying pan on the head hot outside. Not as hot as last years intense want to pull your heat out and freeze it, and stick it back on your head so you will be 10 to 15 degrees colder, but it will be hot enough to complain to all your friends so much that they will want to tape your mouth shut. This is the drop like it is hot forecast.
HENDERSON: High 98, could reach near 100 wouldn't surprise me heat index value of 105 to 107 seems about right. Isolated Thunderstorms in the afternoon into the evening
HOPKINSVILLE: High 96, could reach about 97 Heat index about 104/105ish so still hot and humid. Poor air quality. A slight thunderstorm chance appears after 6PM.
PADUACH: Same as Henderson maybe a little bit more humid though.

Story 2: Like in past few days the haze and heat will cause breathing issues. If you have problems with breathing or have asthma or lung cancer or anything like that please limit your outdoor times. Limit the pollution that you cause too if you can.

Story 3: With the pot. of a MCS that may or may not form most of West KY is in a slight risk that goes from about US 68 north. Rain chances increase greatly if this can form and save us. If it can't there is a good chance Tuesday of rain. Storms Monday Night might have damaging winds, rabid fire lightning shows, and very heavy and brief cloudbursts and intense downpours. Tuesday is garden type non severe thunderstorms with maybe a wet microburst or two.

HEAT ADVISORY FOR ALL IN WEST KY

Slight Risk for West KY US 68 north

Some storms are possible today. Should remain isoalted and temps should be in the mid 90's today and mid to poss. upper 90's tommorow. Heat Indecies will be around 100 and maybe 100 to 104 tommorow.

A slight Risk of severe exists from US 68 north mainly. The main threats will be damaging winds if a MCS can form Tomm. afternoon into the overnight hours. Lack of shear will be the limiting factor in extent of severe wx.

Friday, July 18, 2008

Dry, Warm, Humid Lakes

No problems temps will be up there in the mid 90's with heat index factors of 99 to 104. So be careful and stay hydrated.

With no rain chances till Mon/Tue Lakes or anything with water will be perfect.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Nice days continue humdity returns

Be an uneventful weather days. Great outdoor days, but with the humidity coming back up the lakes will be a great place to be in West KY these next few days. Right now limited rain chances are appearing across West KY.

Good for drying out from a very wet winter/spring, but you dont want to dry out too far. With the heat, heating the soil a few dry weeks could spell a little issue.

Saturday, July 12, 2008

Strong Outflow Winds poss

Damaging winds some might be severe remain possible though next few hours from Paduach to Providence to Livermore KY.

Lightning is excessive in some storms and wind will pick up before the storm even gets there along the outflow.

West KY weather Events

One event taking place this weekend and early next week.

The Ballard County Fair in Wickliffe KY. With Owensboro, Hopkinsville, Henderson dodging weather for thier events

July 12th and 13th this weekend.

Wickliffe KY will be dealing with scattered thunderstorms becoming widespread tonight. So later on in the fair tonight better the chance. Thunderstorms will be poss again tomm morning though early afternoon hours. There should be clearing for the next few days of the fair which runs until July 19th.

Also the lakes expect scattered thunderstorms today and widespread thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. Esp in southern counties of the LBL region.

Not an overall great lake weekend although it is clear now.

For both events heat index readings are in the 100 to 105 range so exercise caution when out enjoying yourself. Humidity and Temps in the 90's can be very dangerous if you overwork yourself.

Slight risk for far nW KY

A slgiht risk of severe wx inculding hail/wind exists from Bardwell to Calhoun KY line north. Some storms might produce some hail and maybe and damaging wind gust or two.

Dry Start Wet End

Storms should rapidly form this afternoon and quickly become widespread. aobut a 50-80% chance can be expected today and tonight.

With the cold front stalling out all of West KY might see a great rain/storm chance instead of Southern portions on Sunday. Greatest 50% + will be south of West KY Parkway and east of US 51.

Friday, July 11, 2008

Rainy Weekends

A big time rainy weekend in store.

A good chance of rain exists tommorow. ANd washout mode should last from Tomm. Night and even into Sunday.

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Washout Wed.

A washout looks possible today across KY and TN- Widespread Rain and thunderstorms are expected- SOme storms might become strong to severe esp in Cumberland Plateau- SOme storms might produce heavy rain.

Friday, July 4, 2008

Happy Birthday USA

The forecast of a washout with clouds still holds.

The rian might be a little bit more scattered though. But it looks like a very rainy 4th of July expected. With more afternoon thunderstorms expected and might produce heavy rain.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008
